Applying for Year 12


How to apply

If you are interested in joining Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology in Year 12 to join the Sixth Form you should apply on MyChoice16 

Students from anywhere in the region can apply. Places are not limited to those living in Cambridgeshire; the main catchment area is considered to be the area within a 35-mile straight line radius of Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology. If you are currently attending a school outside of Cambridgeshire, please select ‘Out of Area or Not Listed’ as your current school.

Timeline of Events for Year 12 admissions with September start

July /  November

Attend CAST open evening, research courses and how these will influence your future university/career choices.

September – October

Meet CAST representatives at your schools post 16 information evening, have any remaining questions answered.

September – December

Complete and submit an application via ‘My Choice at 16‘. Your school will help you with this.

February

CAST guidance meetings for all first and second choice applicants

March - April

Offer letters to be sent to students

May/June

GCSE exams

June/July

Induction day for new CAST students

August

Exam results and enrolment

September

Entry Requirements

Entry for Post-16 study at CAST is based on previous attainment as follows*:

A Levels: Minimum entry requirements 7 GCSEs (at grade 4-9) Sciences (6), Maths (6) and English (4)

T Levels: Minimum entry requirements 5 GCSEs (at grade 4-9) including Sciences (5), Maths (5) and English (4)
