  • White buttoned plain shirt
  • Dark coloured socks
  • Plain black shoes. No trainers (note that there should be no other colours on shoes)

PE Kit Expectations

The items marked with an asterisk (*) below must be purchased from SWI. Other items may be purchased from any supplier.

  • Raglan polo shirt*
  • Track top*
  • Black track pants/shorts/leggings
  • Trainers
  • Black football socks

For health and safety reasons, students cannot wear acrylic nails to school.

Equipment Expectations

All students will require the following items:

  • Pens, pencils, rubber and pencil sharpener
  • Green pens for feedback on their work
  • A scientific calculator
  • Protractor
  • Pair of compasses
  • Ruler
  • A reading book

Reading is integral for improving literacy, so it is imperative students bring their book every day to school. The book they choose needs to be appropriately challenging, and something they are interested in reading because they will be reading every week during private study or during their leisure time.

Use of Electronic Devices

All subjects use Microsoft TEAMS to post learning resources and independent study work. In addition, students are given access to online learning platforms such as Seneca, Sparx, Isaac Physics, Kerboodle and they will be required to complete work using electronic devices.

All students have the opportunity to purchase their own Notebook by making a monthly payment. We would like all students to have their own Notebook (or other similar windows enabled device) available at CAST.

Students use devices for completing private study work, accessing lesson resources, carrying out research activities, accessing online learning platforms and assessment tools (e.g. Kahoot). If all students have electronic devices available this will maximise learning time in lessons.

Use of Mobile Phones

We do acknowledge that many of our students spend a lot of time travelling and therefore it is important for them to have a phone to support safe travelling.

Year 9 and 10 students are not allowed to have any phones visible during the school day.

As a privilege, Year 11 students are allowed to use mobile phones at break or lunchtimes in the social areas or outside. Phones should not be visible at any other time in the school day.
