You’ll gain a strong foundation in health and science, including:
Working in the Health Sector – roles, responsibilities, and professional standards
Health and Wellbeing – promoting healthy lifestyles and supporting individuals
Safeguarding and Infection Control – ensuring safety and hygiene in care settings
Anatomy and Physiology – understanding the human body and its systems
Person-Centred Care – delivering compassionate and tailored support
Occupational specialism: Supporting adult nursing
You’ll develop practical skills to assist registered nurses and healthcare teams, such as:
Supporting daily living activities (nutrition, hygiene, mobility)
Assisting with clinical tasks (e.g., wound care, specimen collection)
Monitoring and recording vital signs and physiological measurements
Maintaining skin integrity and supporting treatment plans
Industry placement
You’ll complete a minimum of 315 hours in a real healthcare setting, applying your knowledge and building confidence in a professional environment.

These cover essential knowledge and skills for all health occupations.
Core Written Exams
Format:
· Two written papers (2 hours 30 minutes each)
· Topics include: health sector roles, safeguarding, infection control, anatomy & physiology, and person-centred care
· Weighting: 70% of the core grade
· Grading: A* to E
Employer Set Project (ESP)
Format:
· 6 tasks over 16 hours 30 minutes (including prep time)
· Real-world scenario set by employers
· Assesses skills like communication, teamwork, research, and presenting
· Weighting: 30% of the core grade
· Grading: Combined with exam results to form overall core grade
Occupational Specialism Assessments – Adult Nursing
These focus on practical skills and knowledge specific to supporting adult nursing teams.
Format:
· Case Study Assessment: 4 hours 30 minutes
· Practical Activities:
· Core task: 1–1.5 hours
· Adult Nursing task: 1.25–2.25 hours
· Professional Discussion: 1 hour (+ 45 minutes prep)
· Total Duration: 7 hours 45 minutes – 9 hours 15 minutes
· Grading: Distinction / Merit / Pass / Ungraded (U)
Skills Assessed:
· Supporting individuals with daily living (nutrition, hygiene, mobility)
· Assisting with clinical tasks (e.g., wound care, specimen collection)
· Monitoring skin integrity and treating skin conditions
· Recording and reporting physiological measurements (e.g., blood pressure, temperature)
Industry Placement
· Minimum Duration: 315 hours
· Purpose: Apply learning in a real healthcare setting at Addenbrookes hospital
· Requirement: Must be completed to achieve the full T Level
Final Grade Calculation
Based on performance in:
· Core component (47%)
· Occupational specialism (53%)
· Overall T Level Grade: Distinction*, Distinction, Merit, or Pass
